Do you eat mindfully?
Do you ever just see food as something to fill you up?
Knowing you all and how much care you put into your nutrition I believe you understand how important our food choices are and that they are much more than just something to take away hunger pains.
But let's be honest, there are sometimes where we are so hungry for a meal or a snack that we just shove it into our mouths not really taking time to connect with the food.
That's perfectly normal and I totally do it too - 100% guilty over here!
Though, I want you to try something the next time you go to eat something.
As you go to eat your food, take a deep breath and think to yourself that this food is about to become a part of you. Connect with the food and thank it for giving you nourishment. “This food is about to become a part of me” ~ Think about this as you continue to eat too.
I like this practice because it helps you slow down and mentally and spiritually prepares you to eat, digest, and absorb the food.
I also like it because it helps you to get out of that stressed state - not a state optimal for digestion.
It also reminds us of how very important our food choices are. If you said this to yourself as you ate something like Cheeto’s, you would realize that all of that junk is about to become a part of you, and would really make you rethink your choice.
On the flip side when you do this as you’re eating a precious fruit like the wild blueberry, you would connect with the energy of that food and feel an immense gratitude for it.
This practice is seriously SO easy and in my experience, it takes eating to a new spiritual level.
