Reprogramming what you thought you knew

We are all programmed to live our lives in one way or another. Though, when you see the word “programming”; what comes to mind?

For me, I think of a computer being programmed to do a set of things over and over again. The computer is taught from the “programmers” to do a set of things. It doesn’t think about it, it just does it. Now apply this to us as a human nature. We are programmed to do a set of things over and over again, consciously or subconsciously. We don’t give much attention to it, we sometimes go auto pilot. And, what “reprogramming” is quite the opposite. It is to recondition what we thought we knew into an entirely new way.

We can reprogram false beliefs about what we think about ourselves (e.g. not feeling worthy or deserving of this or that), what we think healthy and sustainable living or what yoga really is. It’s breaking out of the barriers which confine us into these false ways of thinking. What if we stopped taking an inactive way of “programming” of everyday lives and we actually took active control of our mind instead?

You and your mind is the key to success. If you find that the life that you are living right now is not serving you, you have the complete power to change things up. Let’s get working on how we can do to get there.

THE STEPS TOWARDS REPROGRAMMING

REFLECT

The first step that you want to take is by taking the time to get quiet with yourself and really asking yourself what is it that you want out of your life. I love to do this by meditating for at least 20 minutes to myself - the first 10 minutes is actually getting to that place of peace. The more thought you put into this, the more detail you lay out, the stronger and more powerful your vision will become. This creates a subconscious map in your mind, giving your brain the tools necessary to turn that vision into reality.

ALIGNING WITH WHAT YOU WANT

After you take the time to meditate and get quiet with yourself. It’s time to align with what you want – right now and in the future – and to focus on it. Give your brain direction. What do you want physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, in your business and in your personal life? What do you not want physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, in your business and in your personal life? Make the decision that you are not willing to settle and that you are not willing to live the way you are living right now. Set your sights on what you want.

COMMIT & TAKE ACTION

Now that you aligned with what works best for you, commit to what you want and that that commitment motivate you towards taking action. By moving head on with this process, this keeps a steady course of getting you towards the path towards reprogramming. It removes you from aligning to fear based thinking which often sets us back from doing really anything. Remember what you want to align to.

FACE YOUR SHADOW

This will always come to the forefront of the mind when you start taking the steps towards empowering yourself to reprogram and change. Do not avoid it, face the shadow throughout this process. It’s necessary for you to change. Talk to it and tell this shadow self know that you are now taking the steps to change things around, that whatever it is the shadow is holding you back from it no longer serving you, ask it why it did what it did, give it love, compassion, forgive it for what it’s done, and send it off to the light. Then, you start taking more forward action into your life. You will notice the sometimes subtle or huge shifts.

REMAIN FLEXIBLE

Throughout the post process, remain flexible. The work that you have done sometimes requires you to go back to it again. Sometimes you have to reprogram other parts of other parts that you didn’t quite grasp from the first time around. Think of pulling an onion, you pull back many layers until you get to that core. Which is so important why it’s important to remain flexible along the way – learning from mistakes, embracing failure and using negativity as a driving force for change.

Reprogramming your mind means that you work towards developing the ability to change your approach to what no longer serves your highest good. Not all obstacles, hurdles or circumstances are the same; each poses its own difficulties, and you can meet those difficulties head-on. True power comes from within, and reprogramming the subconscious mind conditions you for success. Frustration becomes a gift, because it means you are on the verge of a breakthrough. Failure becomes a lesson, counseling you on how to be better in the future. Any roadblock becomes an opportunity for you to pivot and find a new creative solution. You will reprogram what you thought you knew. I believe in you.

Love & light,
