What to do after a Shamanic Reiki Session


Everyone’s experience is different, the “work” that you are given from our session is absolutely unique and special to you. Thus, these are only just a couple of suggestions that I provide with some of my clients.

1.  Drink Water!
This Shamanic Reiki Session will trigger a detoxification process. Water is essential for the detox process to happen safely and efficiently. For the next few days, pay attention to how much water you’re drinking and aim to double the amount you’d normally drink.

2. Integrate with the Power of the Sun:

Try not to book or schedule anything immediately after your session. If possible, the wonderful warm sunshine is known to feed and expand your aura.  Spend some time out during the day and relax under the sun after your session.  Even taking a brief 15 minute walk will help as the sun fuels you with energy, optimism – not to mention Vitamin D!  Sunshine can help ground you.

3. Integrate with some peace and quiet

Many of the Shamanic Reiki benefits can occur as soon as after the session is over and it’s important to find somewhere quiet and relaxing to integrate what may arise.

I recommend that my clients take at least 15-20 minutes after the session to meditate, lie down, or rest.

4. Take it slow and REST
The first few days after a Reiki session are crucial, as your immune system is being strengthened and your body is finding balance. So, be kind to yourself. Be slow. Be gentle. Get lots of rest.

5. Take a Sea Salt Cleansing Bath

This ritual will help remove chemicals from you physical body and negativity from your aura.  Take this sea salt cleansing bath everyday leading up to your session. Soak for 20 minutes.

*If you feel slightly dizzy, leave the bath immediately as this means you have achieved the removal of toxins and negativity for one day.

Recipe 1 (for 7 days):

  • 1/2 cup of 100% pure Sea Salt

  • 1/2 cup of Baking Soda

Sea Salt is a great way to help cleanse your aura and draw out stress that you are experiencing.  A simple way to do this at home is to use a Sea Salt scrub before or during your bath.  You can purchase this from any natural health food stores.  Try to pick one that has the most natural ingredients as possible.

6. If your home does not have a bath tub, you can take a Cold, Sea Salt Shower

Use a Sea Salt scrub before taking a shower. This can also help clear away negativity that has built up in you auric field.  It can help remove toxins and improve circulation and draw out tension from your body.  If taking a cold shower is too much for you, an alternate way to do this is to take your regular shower and alternate between hot and cold (15 seconds each).  Or, you can take your regular shower and finish off with a cold shower rinse for 15 seconds.

7. Remove electrical items from your sleeping area

It is common for people to place their laptops, computers, cell phone chargers around their bed for convenience.  However, radiation and frequencies are continuously emitted from electrical gadgets (even when they are not turned on and just plugged in!) These Electromagnetic frequencies can build up static in auric field which can cause disruption to your aura.

  • Charge all your gadgets from your bedroom (at the very least, away from your head).  If you are experiencing disruptive sleeping patterns, try this.

Lepidolite is a great crystal to place by your electrical gadgets. It acts as a protective field of energy between you and the gadgets.  It can become paper thin as it absorb the radiation over time.

8. Clearing Unnecessary Clutter

Do you feel stuck lately?  Are you having trouble focusing and feel stressed?  Clutter can be emotionally or physically draining and interfere with your balance in life.  This is where Feng Shui is incredibly helpful towards bringing balance into your space. Here are some tips to Marie Kondoin’ your clutter:

  • Focus on a small area at a time – start small on one spot at a time.  E.g. fluff those pillows on day 1.  Change your pillow case day
    2.  Organize your mail on day 3.

  • 1 item away a day – 15 minutes is 1% of your day.  That is all it takes.  Nothing more and nothing less.  E.g. Throw out expired yogurt from fridge and recycle one box – Monday.

  • Play your favorite music in the background to motivate you.  Whatever gets you in the mode, ride that musical energy to get you going.

9. Stay away from those that can zap your energy

Have you noticed that when you are with certain people, you seem to absorb their negative energy each time you are around them?  Make observation and note these situations or people.  Sometimes, a pattern will unfold.

  • Limit yourself to these situations or at the very least, wear a protective crystal to prevent your energy being leached.  We can also discuss this during our session together.

10. Contact your practitioner

Please get in touch with your practitioner immediately if you experience any overly challenging emotions, physical sensations or issues after your treatment.
